Fence Installation (Big Cypress)
The Housing Department of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is requesting bids for fence installation services at Big Cypress Reservation, located at 30885 NW Canal Street, Clewiston, Florida, with bids due October 16, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. ET under ITB-LD 168-2026. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for October 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. ET at the project location; the deadline for questions is October 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The Tribe gives preference to Seminole Tribal Member-owned and STOFI-owned certified businesses, allowing up to a four percent preference margin for construction projects not to exceed $200,000. The scope encompasses demolition and responsible disposal of existing fencing, utility locate scheduling, complete gate assembly and operations installation per industry standards, and a sliding driveway gate on the property side. Woven wire installation requires specific tensioning (ten pounds of midway pressure shall cause no more than six inches of displacement), fastening to the knob side of T-posts using clips or fasteners, flat and uniform lay with no bellies, and bottom wire placement no more than two inches above ground. Top and bottom wires and at least two equally spaced interior wires of 48-inch tall woven wire must be secured to each T-post. Daily jobsite cleanup is required. Contractors must hold current state certification as Certified General Contractor, Certified Building Contractor, Certified Residential Contractor, or Specialty Contractor for fence installations, or county registration as Class A, B, or C registered contractor or specialty contractor. A minimum of two years of experience in similar services is required. Commercial General Liability insurance must have minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate; Automobile Liability insurance must have $1 million combined limits; Workers' Compensation insurance is required by law. All work must commence within thirty calendar days of the Purchase Order or Notice to Proceed and be completed within thirty calendar days unless otherwise determined by the Tribe. Pricing must remain fixed and firm for a minimum of 180 calendar days from the bid due date. Bidders must submit complete documentation electronically through BidNet Direct, including Statement of Qualifications and projected completion schedules. Survey site plans will be provided at the pre-bid conference.
