About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is seeking bids for a transit signal priority project in Lee County, Florida. Specifically, FDOT is requesting 12 dual-mode/dual-active Onboard Units (OBUs) to be used in a Connected Vehicle (CV)-based transit signal priority system along a 6.44 mile corridor of US 41. The OBUs must meet detailed technical specifications and include a 1-year warranty and 1-year technical phone support. Bids are due by 9:00 AM EST on May 25, 2023, and will be publicly opened at 11:00 AM EST the same day, with the intended award decision posted at 2:00 PM EST. The contract will be awarded as a purchase order to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and the successful vendor must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketPlace system.

This opportunity is open to all vendors, but a 5% in-state preference will be granted to vendors with a principal place of business located in Florida, as per Section 287.084 of the Florida Statutes. Vendors located outside of Florida must also provide a written opinion from an attorney licensed to practice law in their state, regarding any preferences granted by that state's laws to its own business entities. No incumbent vendors or budget ranges are provided, and no pre-bid conference is scheduled, though the Department reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
