About this opportunity

The City of Seattle is requesting bids on fall protection system maintenance services under ITB 2026-[number not specified], with bids due October 22, 2026. The City seeks to establish a new pool of contracts following expiration of Contract #3612 in September 2025; these contracts will serve all City departments, with primary users being Seattle City Light, Finance and Administrative Services, and Seattle Public Utilities.

The scope encompasses comprehensive fall protection system maintenance services available to multiple City departments. Vendors must meet insurance coverage requirements as a prerequisite to bid acceptance, including maintaining the City as additional insured. Prevailing wage compliance under RCW 39.12 is mandatory. The City also imposes strict social equity and non-discrimination requirements, including active solicitation of women and minority-owned subcontractors. Contractors must submit certified payroll reports within 72 hours of each pay period.

The average annual spend under the prior contract was $209,588.98, providing a baseline for anticipated funding levels. Contract terms include a five-year initial term with one optional two-year extension at the City's discretion. Pricing must be firm and fixed for one-time purchases; multi-year service contracts may request price increases no sooner than two years after execution, subject to documented justification and capped based on Consumer Price Index or manufacturer cost increases. The City will reimburse pre-approved travel and direct expenses at federal per diem rates.

All work products and materials become City property unless specifically identified as preexisting. Contractors must comply with environmental standards and Davis-Bacon Act requirements if federal funding applies. No specific service response deadlines, site visits, or bidder conference information is provided in the available documentation.
