About this opportunity
The Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area (GCRA) is requesting proposals for the fabrication and installation of twenty-one free-standing historical markers for the 5th & Pleasant Black Heritage Trail, with proposals due August 28, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. A local-vendor preference applies to vendors holding valid Gainesville business tax receipts for at least six months prior to bid opening; respondents must also demonstrate three years of responsible experience in the relevant trade, three completed projects within the last seven years, and three years working with state or local governments on similar projects.
The scope consists of eighteen low-profile markers and three pedestrian totem trailhead signs fabricated using fiberglass embedment or high-pressure laminate with direct embedment installation. All signs must incorporate specified designs, text, imagery, and the 5th & Pleasant logo as documented in the proposal materials. The contract term is 120 calendar days from execution to final completion. Performance locations span Alachua County and the City of Graceville.
Respondents must submit cost proposals; no fixed price is specified. Evaluation proceeds in phases: technical qualifications assessment (100 points maximum), written proposal evaluation (100 points maximum), and potentially presentation or interview evaluation for top-ranked firms. Preference considerations include drug-free workplace certification and small or service-disabled veteran business participation. A non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for August 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom. Questions are due August 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. GCRA reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to use any ideas presented in responses.
