About this opportunity
The State of Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is soliciting bids through a Quick Quote procurement process for the supply and delivery of trees, shrubs, perennials, mulch, and landscape materials to the Fayette District 1 Office located at 432 12th Street NW, Fayette, AL 35555, in Lauderdale County. This solicitation requires vendors to provide high-quality plant materials and landscaping supplies that meet ALDOT's specifications for the specified delivery location. Prospective suppliers must be registered in Alabama Buys and submit responses electronically through that platform by the deadline of May 16, 2026, which represents a four-day response period from the posted date of May 12, 2026. ALDOT reserves the right to inspect plants at the supplier's nursery location prior to delivery to ensure quality standards are met. Vendors requiring additional information should contact Pam at 205-932-8930 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The evaluation criteria include cost realism and price reasonableness analysis on all submitted bids.
The solicitation imposes specific compliance requirements on all suppliers, including registration with the Alabama Secretary of State for foreign entities and verification of E-Verify program enrollment for suppliers employing individuals within Alabama. Suppliers must be certified as compliant with Alabama sales tax registration requirements and must accept multiple forms of electronic payment, including state-issued credit cards, P-cards, and EFT transfers, at no additional cost to the State. The resulting contract may be renewed annually by written agreement of both parties for a total contract cost not to exceed $25,000 or a total time period of five years from the effective date. Price escalation requests may be considered during contract performance if material or labor costs increase significantly, provided documented justification is submitted and increases do not exceed 5 percent of annual contract cost or the increases experienced in applicable price indices. Contracts exceeding $25,000 require submission of a Disclosure Statement. The State is exempt from paying sales tax and retains the right to inspect all products before acceptance following delivery.
