About this opportunity
The New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute is extending 14 existing harm reduction service contracts for an additional two years, effective as of October 28, 2026, under a sole-source procurement. The Department determined that competitive procurement was not feasible given the unique qualifications of the selected contractors and the specific circumstances of this extension.
The 14 recipient organizations will continue to provide harm reduction interventions in community settings across New York State, targeting people who use drugs within priority populations at elevated overdose risk and historically marginalized by existing systems of care. Recipients are Bronx Movil Inc., National Harm Reduction Coalition, Justice Innovation Inc., The Bridge Inc., Fortune Society Inc., Housing Works Inc., AIDS Community Resources, Cayuga County Justice Innovation Inc., AIDS Council of Northeastern New York Inc., AIDS Center of Queens County Inc., Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and After Hours Project Inc.
Performance spans multiple jurisdictions: Bronx County, New York City (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx). The contract extension runs two years from award.
