About this opportunity

The State of Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Office of State Procurement Services (OSPS), is requesting quotations on behalf of the Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife (MDIFW) for one new 2026 or newer John Deere 50 P-Tier Compact Crawler Excavator in the 5–6 ton class, with quotations due September 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time through Advantage Vendor Self Service.

The excavator must be equipped with rubber tracks and a climate-controlled cab, configured to operate specified attachments. Required accessories include a 48-inch tilting grading bucket, hydraulic thumb, 24-inch digging bucket, John Deere ME36 mulching head or equivalent, and John Deere RE50 brush cutter or equivalent. Bidders may submit equivalent items with supporting documentation proving equivalency, subject to MDIFW final approval. The package includes first service, a five-year warranty on the excavator, and a one-year warranty on all attachments.

Delivery is required to MDIFW Engineering shop at 2 Hatchery Road, Augusta, Maine 04333. Delivery timeframe (measured After Receipt of Order) is a potential evaluation factor. All pricing must be quoted on a Free on Board (FOB) Destination basis, including all shipping costs. The State is exempt from federal, state, and local taxes; quotations must exclude these. The selected vendor must provide access to a factory-authorized service facility within 70 miles of Augusta for warranty work and basic maintenance.

Award will be made on a best-value basis to the lowest-priced qualified bidder meeting all specifications. The State reserves the right to negotiate at the quoted rate, decline to make an award, and purchase additional units at the bid price for six months following award. All quotations remain valid and binding for 180 days from bid opening. No site visits or bidder conferences are specified.
