About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Northwest District has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB605NW21001868) for equipment rental services to support maintenance work across multiple counties. The procurement seeks vendors to provide heavy equipment rentals including dozers, backhoes, skid-steers, loaders, chippers, and related machinery on an as-needed basis. The contract period will run from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022, with options for four additional one-year renewal periods. The solicitation covers two distinct regions within the Northwest District: a Westside region (including Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, and other counties) and an Eastside region (including Carroll, Chariton, Grundy, and additional counties). Vendors must submit hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly rental rates for specific equipment types, with bids due electronically by May 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM CDT through the MissouriBUYS procurement system. Evaluation criteria will focus on lowest pricing, equipment availability, and ability to deliver equipment within 24 hours of request. All equipment must be maintained, fueled, and ready for immediate use upon delivery.
The IFB encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with specific goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation through subcontractors, suppliers, or joint ventures. Vendors must either be on MoDOT's approved rental list or be willing to sign the Master Equipment Rental Agreement to be considered. No specific incumbent vendor information is provided, and MoDOT does not guarantee minimum purchase quantities during the contract period. The agency reserves the right to award multiple contracts and move to subsequent low bidders if the initial vendor cannot meet equipment delivery requirements. No environmental fees, travel fees, fuel surcharges, delivery/pickup charges, or miscellaneous fees will be accepted beyond the quoted rental rates. Payment terms are net 30 days, with invoices processed after project completion and verification by a MoDOT representative. Vendors are not required to bid on all equipment types but must provide clear pricing for the items they can supply.
