About this opportunity
The City of Republic is seeking engineering design services for the Republic Commons Extension project in Greene County, Missouri. The procurement calls for a comprehensive engineering design to extend a roadway approximately 400 linear feet, connecting to the existing intersection of N. Oakwood Avenue and W. Farm Road 174. The project requires detailed deliverables including construction-level plans for roadway, water main, and stormwater conveyance systems, with a 39-foot wide roadway design featuring curb and guttering. Key scope elements involve topographical and boundary surveying, right-of-way acquisition documentation, utility coordination, detailed construction cost estimating, and comprehensive permitting through the Department of Natural Resources. The proposal is due on September 4, 2025, with the original posting dated August 14, 2025, providing potential respondents approximately three weeks to prepare and submit their comprehensive engineering design proposals.
While the solicitation does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, the complexity of the project suggests that respondents will need significant engineering expertise and technical capabilities. The project involves extending approximately 450 linear feet of eight-inch water main and associated infrastructure, indicating a need for firms with specialized municipal infrastructure design experience. No incumbent vendors are mentioned, and the solicitation does not specify a precise budget range. However, the multi-faceted nature of the project—including roadway design, water main extension, surveying, permitting, and utility coordination—suggests a substantial engineering contract that will likely require significant technical resources and municipal infrastructure design capabilities. Interested engineering firms should carefully review the full scope of work to ensure they can meet the comprehensive design and technical requirements outlined in the contract opportunity.
Opportunity text
The City seeks proposals for engineering design services for the extension of Republic Commons by approximately 400 linear feet, as shown in Figure 1, below (the "Roadway"). The City wishes to connect the Roadway to the existing intersection of N. Oakwood Avenue and W. Farm Road 174. The Roadway is to be 39 feet wide to the back-of-curb with curb and guttering systems. In conjunction, approximately 450 linear feet of eight-inch water main will be extended to N. Oakwood Avenue. The Roadway, water extension, and associated stormwater management infrastructure will need to comply with applicable regulations and standards (hereafter, "the Project"). The following scope of work outlines the specific deliverables and services to be provided: (1) Prepare Construction-Level Roadway, Water Main, and Stormwater Conveyance Plans. (2) Conduct topographical and boundary surveying of the Project area. (3) Prepare documents and exhibits for right-of way acquisition and utility easements. (4) Prepare detailed Construction Cost Estimate, including itemized breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs, and accounting for contingencies and inflation. (5) Coordinate with utility providers to ensure utility conflicts are identified and resolved early in the design process. This also includes ensuring proper clearance and relocation, if necessary, for existing utilities in the Project corridor. (6) Complete all permitting required with the extension of the Roadway and water line, including those requirements set by the Department of Natural Resources.
