About this opportunity

The City of Beaverton, located in Gogebic County, Michigan, is soliciting bids for a comprehensive water system improvement project under the EGLE FY24 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) program. The procurement, designated as Contract 3 - Water Storage, involves constructing a new 300,000-gallon elevated pedestal water storage tank with associated infrastructure, including watermain tie-in, driveway construction, and site grading. A critical component of the project is the demolition of the existing 200,000-gallon elevated multi-leg water storage tank. Prospective bidders must obtain bidding documents from Fleis & VandenBrink Engineering in Traverse City, with a pre-bid conference scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EST, offering both in-person and virtual attendance options. Sealed bids will be received at the City Offices, located at 128 Saginaw St, Beaverton, MI 48612, until 1:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, July 10, 2025, with bids to be publicly opened and read at that time.

The contract opportunity includes several specific requirements that may impact bidder qualifications, such as compliance with American Iron & Steel provisions, adherence to Davis-Bacon/Prevailing Wage Federal Wage Rates, and certification regarding debarment and suspension. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the project's federal funding suggests potential opportunities for minority-owned or small businesses. Bidders must review and comply with labor standards and provisions for federally assisted projects. The project documents, including plans and specifications, will be available by Friday, June 20, 2025, through the online Bid Room at www.fveng.com. Although a specific budget range is not provided in the documentation, the comprehensive nature of the water storage infrastructure project suggests a significant capital investment, likely in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, reflecting the scope of constructing a new water storage tank and associated site improvements.
