About this opportunity

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is seeking a single vendor to provide educational materials and training to decrease stillbirths in Ingham County and the City of Lansing. The selected Contractor will be required to deliver four virtual webinars and one in-person breakout session at the Maternal Infant Health Summit in May 2024 to human services providers. The purpose is to explain the Count the Kicks initiative, an evidence-based stillbirth prevention program, and how to implement it. After the trainings, participants may order program materials, including posters, brochures, and refrigerator magnets in English, Spanish, and Arabic, which the Contractor will ship directly to county offices and health departments. MDHHS believes this vendor is the only one who can provide these products and services, as they hold the trademark for the Count the Kicks program and partner with numerous states.

The state has indicated that this is a sole source procurement, and potential bidders who do not agree that this service is only available from the intended source, Healthy Birth Day, Inc., must submit a written response describing their equivalent offering by February 2, 2024. No other set-aside designations, restrictions, incumbents, or award values were provided in the given documents.

Opportunity text

The Contractor will provide four virtual webinars (one per quarter) and one in-person breakout session at the Maternal Infant Health Summit in May 2024 to human services providers to explain the Count the Kicks initiative and how to implement the program. Count the Kicks is an evidence-based stillbirth prevention program that provides educational resources to healthcare providers and expectant parents. After each training, training participants may order posters and brochures in English, Spanish and Arabic and refrigerator magnets to implement the initiative. The Contractor will take orders from county offices and health departments and ship the items directly to these agencies so that the State will not have to store or process orders. MDHHS believes this vendor is the only vendor who can provide these products and services because they are the only vendor holding the trademark for the Count the Kicks program. The vendor partners with numerous states in the U.S. to distribute this public health information to reduce stillbirths available to Michigan families.
