About this opportunity
The City of Scottsdale Parks and Recreation Department is requesting proposals for dumpster repair and purchase services, with proposals due June 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM through the City's Bonfire procurement portal, and questions due June 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
The scope encompasses repair services for trailer hitches, aprons, and frames of mobile commercial dumpster containers; preventive maintenance including lubrication and sanitization; welding of damaged panels; replacement of wheels, axles, and parts; painting with City logo; and purchase of new 4-yard dumpster units. Dumpsters are deployed across 14 park and facility sites (Cactus Park, Mountain View Park, Scottsdale Sports Complex, Thompson Peak, Chaparral, Horizon, and others) with quantities ranging from 1 to 7 units per location. The contractor must perform repairs at its own facility with a 10-business-day turnaround, maintain a five-year warranty on all work, provide daily electronic work-order status reports, and supply all tools, equipment, and safety gear. Commercial General Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence with $2,000,000 aggregate limits, Business Automobile Liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, and Workers' Compensation Insurance are required. Repairs and replacements exceeding five percent monthly warranty issues or three failed quality tests within twelve months may trigger contract termination.
The contract term is one year with four optional one-year renewal periods, contingent on the Contract Administrator's recommendation and Purchasing Director approval. Pricing shall be submitted as unit prices for 4-yard dumpster purchases and a flat fixed fee for repair services calculated as a percentage discount off manufacturer pricing with all ancillary costs included.
Evaluation criteria are weighted: Firm and Staff Qualifications & Experience (30%), Project Approach (30%), Pricing (30%), and Exceptions, References, and Subcontractors List (10%). A public opening meeting will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. All respondents must comply with Arizona immigration law, including E-Verify Program requirements, and register as vendors in the City's Bonfire portal prior to submission.
