About this opportunity

The State of Maine is requesting bids for a commercial laundry dryer, UniMac model UT170FG or approved equivalent, with bids due November 26, 2007.

The scope is a 170-pound-capacity steam-operated dryer with encapsulated heat system, steel door construction, triple belt drive, self-cleaning lint filter, and a 50" × 42" cylinder with 49.7 cubic-foot capacity. Operating specifications include 648,000 BTU per hour at 100 psi, 2,450 CFM, and electrical requirements of 200–208/240/60/3 phase. The reversible cylinder measures 53" wide × 67" deep × 94" high. Manufacturer warranty must include 30 days labor coverage and three years parts coverage. All specifications are stated as minimums; the State reserves the right to consider approved equals and alternates.

Vendors must provide separate line-item pricing for the dryer unit, freight costs, and delivery and setup services (uncrating, placement, leveling, and final connections), as well as complete installation pricing covering electrical, plumbing, ducting, and Siemens control system installation. Pricing must be entered in the AdvantageME quote system and submitted to Sue Garcia via fax at 207-287-6578 with manufacturer and model information and detailed specifications.

The State applies a preference to in-state bidders and those offering Maine-produced commodities or services in tie situations. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value to the State, evaluated on quality, specification conformance, delivery date, and ultimate cost. All transportation charges must be prepaid unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes; bidders should quote accordingly.
