About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on dog tags under the solicitation Dog Tags 2012, with quotes due July 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time. Electronic submission is required.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the State, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and the State's overall interests. In cases of tied quotes, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.
The dog tag specifications address materials, dimensions, printing (including font, text placement, and color), attachment mechanisms, corrosion resistance, and wear testing standards. A sample dog tag document is available as reference material for bidders. Bidders may submit alternate commodities if accompanied by complete identification and descriptive literature; quotes lacking such documentation will be treated as proposals for the commodity as specified.
Unit prices must be stated in the specified units and include all trade or quantity discounts and delivery to destination. Transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, are prepaid at the contractor's expense unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts are considered only when payment terms are 20 days or more from the date of delivery at destination after final inspection and acceptance or from receipt of the correct invoice, whichever is later. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes; quotes should exclude these taxes. Contractors must deliver items as specified on the Purchase Order; any deviation is subject to rejection. The Division reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. All deliveries must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Contractors must provide current material safety data sheets for any hazardous chemicals as required by Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
