The procurement opportunity (DOC-26-007-R) requires a qualified Psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for up to 40 hours per week. While telehealth capabilities are available, onsite services are preferred by the agency. The initial contract term will be one year with potential renewal options, as outlined in Section III, Paragraph D of the Request for Proposal (RFP). Interested providers must submit a comprehensive proposal by August 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm, detailing their qualifications, service approach, and ability to deliver psychiatric care within a correctional environment. The procurement is specifically targeting Brunswick County, Virginia, and requires professional medical credentials and expertise in correctional psychiatric services. Potential providers should carefully review the attached Scope of Services and Contractual Terms and Conditions to ensure full compliance with the solicitation requirements.
While no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions were explicitly detailed in the procurement notice, the contract appears open to qualified medical professionals with appropriate licensure and experience. The compensation and specific hours for the position are negotiable, suggesting flexibility in contract structuring. No incumbent vendor information was provided in the original solicitation. The procurement does not specify a precise budget range, but indicates willingness to negotiate compensation commensurate with the provider's qualifications and proposed service delivery model. Interested providers will need to demonstrate expertise in correctional psychiatric care, potentially including experience working within secure institutional settings. The ability to provide both onsite and telehealth services may be viewed as a competitive advantage in the evaluation process. Providers should be prepared to detail their approach to delivering comprehensive psychiatric services within the unique constraints of a correctional facility environment.
