About this opportunity

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking bids for the Sibley State Park Mount Tom Monument Stairs Replacement project located in Kandiyohi County. The procurement is a Request for Bid (RFB) for comprehensive labor, equipment, materials, and services required to demolish and rebuild existing stairs at the Mount Tom Monument within Sibley State Park. Contractors must provide all necessary tools, transportation, permits, licenses, and incidentals to complete the project. The project has a substantial completion deadline of June 15, 2024, with final completion by June 30, 2024. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to conduct a site visit and can contact Project Supervisor Jeremy Gehrke at 320-347-7814 for arrangements. All bids must be submitted electronically through the Swift Portal by May 1, 2024, with no email or fax submissions accepted. The DNR will award the contract to the lowest responsible vendor meeting all specifications and terms, reserving the right to award items separately or by total grouping to maximize state advantages.

The procurement appears to have preferences for Minnesota resident vendors and veteran-owned small businesses, with contractors required to comply with Minnesota prevailing wage requirements and potentially register with the Department of Labor and Industry. Bidders must provide comprehensive unit pricing that includes all associated costs such as labor, materials, tools, transportation, equipment, sales tax, and use tax. Contractors must complete a Contractor Detail Verification form, which requires disclosure of trades, occupations, subcontractor involvement, and workers' compensation insurance status. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the project involves stair replacement infrastructure within a state park. Contractors needing registration or submission assistance can contact the Contractor Assistance Help Desk at 651-201-8100, Option 1. The solicitation notes that responses not complying with specifications will be considered nonresponsive and rejected, emphasizing the importance of thorough and accurate bid preparation.
