About this opportunity

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking bids for a specialized pool pump repair project at Flandrau State Park located in New Ulm, Minnesota. The procurement involves repairing two specific pool pumps, including a KSB Model KRT E100-251/164XG-S 20hp submersible pump, which requires comprehensive services such as mechanical seal kit replacement, bearing kit installation, O-ring kit replacement, stator rewind, shop labor, supplies, installation, and freight. Bids must be submitted electronically through the Swift Portal between April 22, 2025, and May 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with project completion required by June 30, 2025. The state will award the contract to the lowest responsible vendor meeting all specifications, with evaluation criteria focusing on compliance, completeness of response, and overall value. Contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to submitting a response and must comply with prevailing wage requirements for Brown County. Key qualifications include adherence to detailed technical specifications, insurance requirements, and comprehensive understanding of the pump repair needs.

The procurement opportunity appears open to various contractors, with potential preferences for veteran-owned small businesses and an emphasis on diversity and inclusion in public procurement. Contractors must meet several compliance requirements, including verification of resident vendor status, registration with the Department of Labor and Industry, and confirmation of equal pay certification for contracts potentially exceeding $500,000. Insurance requirements are specific, mandating $1,500,000 in commercial general liability coverage and workers' compensation insurance. Additional requirements include compliance with Minnesota statutes, invasive species prevention protocols, and polluter best management practices. While a specific budget is not explicitly stated, the detailed specifications suggest a focused, specialized repair project. Contractors must provide unit pricing that includes all associated costs such as labor, materials, tools, transportation, equipment, and taxes, with the state reserving the right to award items separately or as a total package based on what is most advantageous to the state.
