About this opportunity

The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) is seeking proposals from municipalities for projects that will sustain or improve migratory passageways for diadromous (sea-run) fish in Massachusetts. This DMF Municipal Fish Passage Restoration Grant opportunity focuses on construction funding for small, high-priority fishway projects, with proposal values ranging from $10,000 to $75,000 that can be completed within a fiscal year. Project selection will be heavily weighted towards the ranking on DMF's Diadromous Fish Restoration Priority List, which contains nearly 500 locations across four major coastal drainage areas in Massachusetts. The RFR is limited to municipalities and does not exclude proposals for design, permitting, or projects outside the top 20 ranking on the Priority List. DMF will consider a wide range of restoration options, including dam removal proposals. The deadline for submissions is February 26, 2027.

This opportunity is limited to municipalities and does not exclude proposals for design, permitting, or projects outside the top 20 ranking on the DMF Diadromous Fish Restoration Priority List. Applicants are encouraged to review the status of their project of interest in the DMF Diadromous Fish GIS Data Layer and consult with the DMF Diadromous Fish Project Leader. Responses can be submitted via COMMBUYS or email. There is no listed incumbent vendor or budget range provided.
