The scope includes approximately 2,500 square feet of electrical vault expansion, interior renovation of the existing structure, roof replacement, modifications to existing HVAC and Fire Protection systems, relocation of existing regulators and ALCMS control system, replacement of fiber optic cable and power and communication wiring, and replacement of the standby emergency power generator as an additive alternate bid item. All work must comply with airport security protocols and FAA requirements. All bidders must hold Florida licensure at the time of bid submission. Bid security of not less than five percent of the bid price is required in the form of certified check, cashier's check, money order, or bid bond. The successful contractor must furnish performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price within 14 calendar days of notification. No mandatory Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal has been established, though Palm Beach County encourages participation by all qualifying firms, including Small Business Concerns.
The project is subject to mandatory federal requirements including Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wage standards, Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, Copeland Anti-kickback Act, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, Build America Buy America Act, and 2 CFR Parts 200 and 1201. Liquidated damages apply for failure to meet completion dates as specified in Attachment No. 2 of the bid form.
