About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for storm debris removal and disposal services across all Florida counties, with a specific solicitation identified as DJJ-RFP-Storm Clean-up-25. The contract opportunity, posted on March 3, 2025, with proposals due by March 21, 2025, seeks a contractor to comprehensively manage storm damage cleanup at juvenile residential and detention facilities statewide. Key deliverables include a detailed report of debris types and volumes, documentation of disposal methods and locations, and a final site inspection report with before and after photographs. The scope of work requires thorough site assessment, safe collection and removal of various debris types including small branches, leaves, building materials, and hazardous trees, with strict compliance to local, state, and federal disposal regulations. Contractors must provide official documentation of disposal quantities and costs, implement safety measures to protect workers and the public, and restore affected areas to a safe and clean condition. The project objectives center on efficiently removing debris, disposing of materials environmentally responsibly, and restoring DJJ facilities to their original state following storm damage.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documentation, the contract appears open to qualified contractors capable of meeting the comprehensive debris removal and disposal specifications. The solicitation covers all Florida counties, as detailed in the attached regional maps, which divide the state into North, Central, and South regions for administrative purposes. Payment terms indicate compensation will be made upon satisfactory completion of each project phase, contingent on meeting specified deliverables and compliance requirements. Although no specific budget range is provided, the project's statewide scope suggests potential for significant financial opportunity, particularly given the comprehensive nature of storm damage cleanup services required. The contract's flexibility is evident in the TBD timeline for site assessment, debris removal, and final cleanup, which allows for adaptability to specific storm damage scenarios across different juvenile justice facilities throughout Florida.
