About this opportunity

Pennsylvania Western University - California Campus is seeking a single General Construction Contractor for comprehensive roof and exterior renovations at Dixon Hall through a competitive bid process. The project scope includes steep slope roofing replacement involving synthetic slate shingle removal and asphalt shingle installation, built-in gutter coating with fluid-applied systems, west cornice replacement, low-slope EPDM roofing replacement, north exterior stair reconstruction, and exterior wood carpentry repairs. Specific deliverables include new ridge vents, valley flashings, metal copings, steel railings, concrete stairs, window repairs, and comprehensive site modifications. The solicitation requires electronic bid submission through PASSHE's ARIBA Sourcepoint by April 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM EST, with a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit scheduled for March 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Dixon Hall located in California, Pennsylvania. Interested bidders must register on the ARIBA platform to access complete bid documentation and submit proposals, with registration being a free and straightforward process.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly outlined in the solicitation, the procurement is structured to accommodate competitive bidding from qualified contractors. The project appears to be fully funded by Pennsylvania Western University, with no indication of incumbent vendors or specific integration requirements beyond the comprehensive renovation scope. Potential bidders must demonstrate capability to manage a complex multi-component renovation project involving roofing, structural, and architectural elements. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the documentation, suggesting that pricing will be determined through the competitive bidding process. Contractors will need to provide comprehensive labor, materials, tools, and equipment to complete all construction activities to the university's specifications, with work subject to professional and university approval.
