About this opportunity
The state of Virginia, specifically Brunswick County, has issued a state and local contract opportunity (ID: 686b9f1f4598de66100796ab) for the Dismal Road Landslide Project, with proposals due by July 30, 2025. The procurement involves comprehensive site remediation and infrastructure improvement, including the construction of erosion and sediment control measures, installation of a wire cable net portal closure, safety fence construction and removal, demolition of an existing concrete block wall, repositioning a 15a CMP, installing a Segmental Retaining Wall (SRW) and chain link fence, parking area upgrades, paving, and site revegetation. The project requires contractors with demonstrated expertise in civil engineering, construction management, and environmental restoration techniques. Prospective bidders must carefully review the detailed specifications and submit comprehensive proposals that demonstrate technical capabilities, project understanding, and compliance with all specified construction requirements. The procurement appears to prioritize contractors with proven experience in complex landslide mitigation and infrastructure rehabilitation projects.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, contractors should anticipate potential local or state-level requirements for disadvantaged business enterprise participation. The project's scope suggests a need for specialized construction and engineering capabilities, which may limit the pool of qualified respondents. Although an exact budget range is not specified, the comprehensive nature of the project involving multiple complex infrastructure elements indicates a potentially significant investment. Contractors should be prepared to demonstrate financial stability, technical expertise, and the ability to manage a multifaceted site remediation project. Given the technical complexity of landslide mitigation and infrastructure restoration, prime contractors will likely need to assemble teams with specialized geological, environmental, and civil engineering competencies to successfully compete for this opportunity.
