About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids on disks for a new storage array, with bids due December 17, 2009. No set-asides or preferences are stated in the standard conditions; however, in case of tied bids, preference will be given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.

The procurement covers two CX4-960C storage system configurations — one for an EDOC (Oracle Target) environment and one for a CMCC (Oracle Source) environment — plus a VMWare EDOC allocation. Each system includes a 40U rack, dual 4G Direct Attached Enclosures with factory or field installation, factory rack installation services, 300GB 15K 4GB Fibre Channel drives, 146GB 15K 4G vault pack drives, rack power cords, software utilities, documentation, service modems, and new installation services. The EDOC configuration specifies 25 drives initially with an additional 30 units; the CMCC configuration also includes 25 drives with 30 additional units. The VMWare allocation calls for 2 DAE units and 30 drives.

Bidders must submit separate unit prices on prescribed forms or through the state's electronic bidding system, directed to the Division of Purchases at 9 State House Station, Room 119, Augusta, Maine. The state reserves the right to accept alternate commodities of equal quality and performance, provided bidders submit complete identification and descriptive literature. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, with evaluation criteria including quality, conformance to specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Unit prices govern in cases of discrepancy between unit and total prices. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive formalities at its discretion. All transportation charges, including freight and handling, shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The state is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes.

No estimated contract value, contract term, incumbent contractor, or additional procurement timeline details are specified.
