About this opportunity

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is requesting bids for dental anesthesiology services at Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center, with bids due July 16, 2026 at 10:30 AM Central Time and a questions deadline of July 3, 2026. The contractor must be a Texas-licensed dentist with a Level 4 permit for deep sedation or general anesthesia and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience — core eligibility requirements.

The scope encompasses total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) support for dental treatment procedures performed in accordance with American Society of Anesthesiologists guidelines and American Dental Association standards. Services are to be performed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, with a four-hour response time requirement for service calls. The contractor must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including workers' compensation, commercial general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, commercial automobile liability of $1,000,000, professional liability insurance of $1,000,000, and umbrella liability insurance of $1,000,000.

The contract term runs September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027, with an option for extension of up to one additional year at HHSC's sole discretion. The historical monetary value for the same or similar services is $50,000 for the twelve-month period ending August 31, 2026, provided only as a guideline and not as a guarantee of actual volume. Pricing must be firm and fixed for the life of the contract, all-inclusive of labor, equipment, materials, supplies, travel, lodging, and medications, submitted on Exhibit C Pricing Sheet. Price adjustments are permissible only at HHSC's sole discretion and may be correlated with the Consumer Price Index or Federal Minimum Wage adjustments when applicable.

Bidders must submit three verifiable references for similar services completed within the last five years (Exhibit D), current Texas State Board of Dental Examiners certification, DEA permit, Texas controlled substance registration certificate, and completed HHS Solicitation Affirmations (Exhibit A). Both HHSC and the Department of State Health Services are entitled to use any contract awarded under this IFB. There is no guarantee of volume, usage, or compensation to any contractor.
