About this opportunity
The Town of Wolcott is seeking qualified contractors for a demolition and site stabilization project for a flood-damaged residential property located at 696 North Wolcott Road through the Flood Resilient Communities Fund. The procurement involves comprehensive demolition services, including removal of all property improvements such as septic systems, water wells, buildings, foundations, electrical and phone lines, pavement, fuel tanks, debris, and hazardous materials. Contractors must return the site to a smooth, graded, stabilized, and vegetated condition in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th at 9:00 am at the Wolcott Town Offices, and bidders who do not attend will be disqualified. Sealed bids must be submitted by Tuesday, June 24th at 4:00 pm, with a public bid opening on Wednesday, June 25th at 10:00 pm. The Town of Wolcott will evaluate bids based on technical expertise, experience, cost, project schedule, and proposal completeness, with demolition and site stabilization required to be completed within 90 days of the Notice to Proceed.
The procurement encourages applications from minority and local businesses, providing potential opportunities for disadvantaged enterprises. The Town of Wolcott reserves the right to select the most qualified proposal, which may not necessarily be the lowest bid. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the project is funded through the State of Vermont's Department of Emergency Management under the Flood Resilient Communities Fund. No incumbent vendors are mentioned, and there are no explicit restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond beyond the requirement of demonstrating technical competence and capability to complete the demolition and site stabilization work. Interested contractors can obtain bidding documents from the Town of Wolcott at 28 Railroad Street or through the Wolcott municipal website (Wolcottvt.org). Potential bidders can contact Linda Martin of the Wolcott Selectboard at linda.wolcott.selectboard@gmail.com or 802-888-5654 for additional information.
