About this opportunity
Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Purchasing Department, issued Request for Quotation (RFQ) #080618-369/ZG on August 27, 2018, for the one-time purchase and delivery of 260 units of deceleration alert lights. The specified deceleration alert lights must meet stringent technical and safety standards, including IP67 weatherproof rating, compliance with SAE, DOT, and NHTSA requirements, LED flash rates of 8-10 Hz, amber color, and operation on either 12Vdc or 24Vdc input voltage. The lights must feature surface mount through-hole mounting with physical dimensions of 4.5" width by 1.25" height by 0.75" depth and be constructed of optical Lexan with emergency vehicle quality standards. All pricing must be submitted as firm, fixed unit prices per light, with prices remaining firm for 90 days from the date of opening and applicable to both the initial and any subsequent terms. Quotation submissions were due by September 4, 2018, at 4:00 P.M. Palm Beach County time, with delivery required within seven calendar days after receipt of purchase order to 3201 Electronics Way, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. The County will award this procurement on an all-or-none basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and the successful bidder must provide factory/manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship effective from the date of delivery and acceptance.
Local preference provisions apply to this procurement, giving a 5% reduction consideration to quoters with permanent places of business in Palm Beach County or the Glades, provided they submit required certification and business tax receipts. Small business enterprise (SBE) certified firms within 10% of the lowest bid may be awarded the contract, creating an opportunity for certified small businesses to compete for the award. The County reserves the right to purchase additional quantities for up to 12 months from the date of award at the offered prices and under the same terms and conditions upon mutual written agreement. All pricing shall be all-inclusive and must encompass supervision, labor, equipment, materials, transportation, freight, shipping, handling fees, and all other facilities and services necessary to provide the items as specified, with no additional compensation permitted. No specific incumbent vendor information or budget range was disclosed in the procurement documentation.
