About this opportunity

Gaston College in North Carolina is seeking a vendor to customize, manufacture, deliver, and install a de-escalation training center to be used for live-fire training by law enforcement and trainees. The training center will have three major components: a physical facility, an after-action review camera system, and a hit detection target system. The goal is to enhance Gaston College's ability to train students in law enforcement and criminal justice programs on scenario-based tactics for de-escalating confrontational and/or deadly situations to avoid the use of force. Gaston College is looking for a vendor with a proven track record in manufacturing and assembling high-quality live-fire training facilities. Proposals are due on May 22, 2024 at 3:00 PM ET, and the award will be made on a best value basis considering technical approach, vendor qualifications, experience, references, and pricing.

The RFP does not mention any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor or current contractor is not specified. The total budget for this project is also not provided, but Gaston College seeks to make a one-time purchase and installation of the de-escalation training system.
