About this opportunity

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is requesting bids for one custom-built airboat with engine and propeller and one boat trailer under IFB 802-26-83271, with bids due August 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. Respondents must hold an active and valid Marine Dealer License, Marine Distributor License, or Marine Manufacturer License under Parks and Wildlife Code 31.041 and provide current documentation verifying authorization to distribute the specific vessel make and model.

The airboat shall measure approximately twenty feet in length and eight feet in width, constructed of aluminum with minimum side heights of twenty-four inches and transom heights of twenty-eight inches. The package must include a minimum 600-horsepower EPA-certified V8 or V6 engine, a fifty-gallon fuel tank, dual rudders, navigation lighting, LED lights, seating for no fewer than five adults, and a fire extinguisher. The boat trailer must have a minimum load capacity of 7,000 pounds with tandem axles, disc brakes, and fourteen-inch tires, plus two loading ramps with rollers. Optional accessories include dual power poles, communication headsets, and a GPS unit.

Bidders must submit unit prices for each line item with delivery quoted as Free on Board destination, with all shipping, handling, fuel surcharges, and delivery costs included in the freight price. The contract commences upon issuance and automatically expires upon delivery and final acceptance. TPWD reserves the right to award on the basis of lowest line-item bid, lowest total, or any combination serving the state's best interest, and may award optional accessories in part, in whole, or none based on fund availability.

A predelivery inspection shall be conducted at the vendor's facility prior to delivery to TPWD State Parks Law Enforcement Office in Austin, Texas, with TPWD paying travel expenses for the initial inspection and the vendor responsible for costs of additional inspections if specification compliance issues are identified. The contractor must deliver the complete, fully assembled, towable and response-ready boat package within the specified calendar days after receipt of order.
