About this opportunity
Columbus State University (CSU) is issuing an electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) for leased laundry equipment to be installed at the RiverPark campus in Uptown Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. The procurement is being conducted under the State Purchasing Act and seeks a qualified supplier to provide laundry machines capable of accepting electronic payments, though the machines will be set to free vend by default. The key deliverables include commercial-grade laundry equipment that can support electronic payment functionality while currently offering no-cost usage for students. Proposals are due by May 22, 2025, with the original posting date of May 12, 2025. The university intends to award a single contract for this service, and the selected vendor will not receive compensation based on per-cycle usage. Evaluation criteria will likely focus on the vendor's ability to meet technical specifications, provide reliable equipment, and support the electronic payment infrastructure.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the contract opportunity description. The procurement appears to be open to all qualified vendors with experience in providing commercial laundry equipment for educational institutions. While no incumbent vendor is identified, the proposal suggests the university is seeking a comprehensive solution that integrates modern payment technology with student-friendly service models. The contract will cover leased equipment for multiple addresses within the RiverPark campus, indicating a potentially significant infrastructure deployment. Although no specific budget range is provided, the scope suggests a multi-year lease arrangement with potential for ongoing service and maintenance support. The unique requirement of having payment functionality available but not actively charged suggests the vendor must be flexible in their technological and billing approach.
