About this opportunity
Dunn County is soliciting bids for a crushing operations contract at the Finder Quarry through Invitation for Bid #2022-11. The project requires a comprehensive crushing operation to produce approximately 50,000 tons of 1-inch lime rock base material, with all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to be provided by the successful bidder. Prospective contractors must ensure materials conform to WisDOT FDM 14-5-10 and standard specifications 301 & 305 for gradations. A mandatory pre-proposal walk-through conference is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Finder Quarry location, with prospective bidders required to register by August 26, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Bids must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, to the Dunn County Administration Department. The contract must be completed by November 30, 2022, and all contracted employees are required to be MSHA certified. Bidders must submit pricing on a per-ton basis, with prices remaining fixed and valid for 90 days from the bid due date.
The procurement does not appear to have specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must obtain a Certificate of Insurance with minimum liability coverage of $1 million combined single limit or $500,000 with a $1 million umbrella policy, with Dunn County named as an additional insured. No bid bond or performance bond is required, but payment is contingent upon completed services meeting specifications. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. While a specific budget range is not disclosed, the project involves producing 50,000 tons of base material, which suggests a potentially significant contract value. The county reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. Invoices will be processed by the Highway Department, with payment issued within 30 days of receiving a proper invoice.
