About this opportunity
The Commonwealth of Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet, on behalf of the Department of Corrections, is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB) for the procurement of Crop Fertilizer for the Kentucky Correctional Industries WKCC Farm located in Lyon County. The bid is due on February 22, 2024 by 1:30 PM ET. The required items include Urea-46% (62 tons), Mixed Fertilizer (DAP) (128 tons), Potash-Muriate 60% Actual (MOP) (98 tons), Fertilizer Spreading (1,350 acres), and Agricultural Lime (800 tons). The contract will be awarded to the vendor providing the best price (90 points) and delivery time (10 points). Vendors must bid on all line items, and the contract will be awarded as a group. The initial contract period is not specified, but the contract may include optional renewal periods.
The bid requires vendors to maintain insurance coverage, comply with state preferences for resident bidders and qualified bidders (i.e., nonprofit organizations that employ individuals with severe disabilities for at least 75% of the labor required), and adhere to various state regulations and policies. Past vendor performance may also be considered in the award. The Commonwealth reserves the right to consider bids non-responsive if they do not comply with the specifications. The bid does not provide any information about incumbent vendors or a budget range for the contract.
