About this opportunity
Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the rental of a crane truck on a term contract basis, with responses due February 17, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. local time. The County seeks a 60-ton and above capacity hydraulic crane truck with operator available on an as-needed basis for actual time worked, twenty-four hours daily, 365 days per year. Equipment and operators must meet or exceed OSHA, ANSI, and all applicable state and federal safety requirements, and bidders must provide a minimum of three references for similar services provided within the past three years along with evidence of proper licensing or certification by an accredited crane operator testing organization or audited employer program. Compensation shall be paid at a firm, fixed hourly rate that must include all costs such as mobilization, demobilization, transportation, fuel, repairs, maintenance, and incidental expenses, with no minimum hourly guarantee. The contract term is twelve months or until the estimated amount is expended, at the County's discretion, with an option to renew for four additional twelve-month periods upon mutual written agreement. The County will award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on an all-or-none basis.
Successful bidders must provide evidence of commercial general liability insurance with minimum limits of $500,000, business auto liability insurance of $500,000, and workers' compensation with employer's liability coverage before contract execution. Local preference of five percent may be applied to responsive, responsible bidders with a permanent place of business in Palm Beach County or the Glades. Small business enterprises certified with Palm Beach County may receive preference if within ten percent of the lowest bid. The anticipated contract value is $51,000 over the initial twelve-month term. No bidders' conference or site visit is specified in the solicitation documents, and faxed or emailed responses are acceptable.
