Normal operating hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays; DWR will attempt to provide 72 hours advance notice for service requests, with emergency service availability within four hours.

The anticipated contract term is three years beginning January 1, 2027. The bid sheet requires pricing for mobilization and demobilization, hourly operating rates with operators and crew, daily minimums, overtime (time-and-a-half and double-time), and emergency service fees for each crane type. Bidders must demonstrate five years of active crane-service engagement with supporting invoices or work orders, maintain current California business licenses, be tax-compliant, hold NCCCO certificates for all operators, and carry comprehensive insurance: general liability ($1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate), workers' compensation at statutory limits, and automobile liability ($1 million combined single limit). Technical questions are due August 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., with answers provided August 11. Public bid opening is August 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder meeting specifications.
