About this opportunity

The Colorado Department of Corrections issued a documented quote solicitation (CAAA 2016000401) for the procurement of covert light and siren packages to be installed on departmental vehicles. The solicitation requests fourteen separate packages across four vehicle types: six packages for 2015 Chevy Impala vehicles, five packages for 2015 Ford Fusion vehicles, two packages for 2015 Dodge Durango vehicles, and one package for a 2015 Chevy Malibu vehicle. Each package must include Code 3 Hide-A-blast LED hide-away lights for headlights and taillight housings, a Code 3 covert siren with siren speaker, a custom wiring harness, shop supplies, and complete installation and labor. Goods and services are to be delivered to the Colorado Department of Corrections Office of the Inspector General in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The bid submission deadline is October 1, 2015, at 1:00 PM MST, with submissions accepted via email to maryann.shaw@state.co.us or fax to 719-269-4064. The State will evaluate proposals based on cost, quality, safety, security considerations, projected delivery date, lifecycle costs, bidder qualifications and experience, and proposed operator training. Bid prices must include freight costs on a FOB-destination basis, with payment terms assumed to be Net-45 days after receipt of goods and services unless otherwise specified by the bidder.

Prospective bidders must be registered on the Colorado Vendor Self Service website to respond to this solicitation. Contractors and any employees providing services on CDOC property may be required to undergo criminal background checks and sign a Consent to Search Authorization form, with all persons admitted to CDOC facilities required to comply with facility rules, including prohibitions on tobacco products and contraband items. The solicitation permits competitive equal products to be submitted with adequate supporting product information, though brand names and specifications are intended to establish desired quality and performance levels. The Colorado Department of Corrections reserves the right to award the solicitation to a single bidder or divide the award among multiple bidders as deemed in the State's best interest. No incumbent vendors, budget range, or set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are identified in the solicitation documents.
