About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on coveralls for dairy inspectors, with bids due February 17, 2010. Bidders must submit the completed State Purchasing Code of Conduct Affidavit by the bid opening date, faxed to Sue Garcia at 207-287-6578; the affidavit requires disclosure of all assembly locations and certification of compliance with wage, labor, environmental, safety, anti-discrimination, and human and labor rights laws, including prohibitions on forced labor, child labor, and involuntary prison labor.
All bids must be submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases, Room 119, 9 State House Station, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine, prior to the specified opening time. Bidders may propose approved equal alternatives to specified products with supporting documentation. Unit prices must be submitted for each item; awards will be made on an individual item or group basis at the State's discretion to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value, considering quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and total cost. In tie situations, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-produced commodities. Transportation and freight charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Bidders must specify payment terms and cash discounts; discounts under 20 days are not considered in award determinations. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, and increase or decrease order quantities by up to 10 percent unless otherwise stated. Amendments or late submissions will not be considered. Bid tabulations will be available for public inspection following contract award.
