About this opportunity

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is soliciting competitive bids for the procurement of a counterweight item weighing 60 pounds with a tolerance of plus 2 percent. This purchase order opportunity, identified as 2098398, was posted on March 19, 2026, with a bid due date of March 24, 2026. The primary deliverable is a single counterweight component that meets DART's specifications for weight and tolerance requirements. Bidders must submit responses through BONFIRE registration, where project details and vendor response fields are accessible through an in-browser BidTable by initiating the "Prepare Your Submission" process. All bids must reflect FOB Destination shipping terms with freight costs included in the overall price, as DART does not accept FOB Origin or Prepay and Add arrangements. Selected vendors must comply with DART's standard purchase order terms and conditions, including the requirement to provide commercial warranties covering merchantable quality, suitability for intended use, and compliance with product specifications. The procurement is governed by Texas law with venue in Dallas County, and the seller must certify non-involvement with designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations and non-participation in boycotts of Israel.

The procurement document does not specify set-aside designations or restrictions limiting participation to particular categories of organizations, disadvantaged enterprises, or minority-owned businesses; therefore, qualified vendors appear eligible to respond regardless of business classification. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available procurement materials, and no existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are noted for this counterweight procurement. Payment terms are Net 30, with invoices submitted in triplicate to APInvoices@dart.org and payment made 30 days from receipt of the invoice or 30 days from receipt of the order, whichever is later. DART reserves the right to terminate for default if the seller fails to meet specified delivery times and rates, or to terminate for convenience at the Authority's discretion when in its best interest. The specific award value or budget range for this counterweight procurement is not disclosed in the available documentation, requiring prospective bidders to consult the detailed BidTable for pricing information and complete procurement specifications.
