About this opportunity
NC State University is requesting sealed proposals for demolition of the Council Building in Raleigh, North Carolina, with bids due August 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit on July 22, 2026 at the project site (701 Barbour Drive, Raleigh, NC 27605). Only five pre-qualified general contractors may bid: CMC (Bolton, NC), RPCI (Utica, NY), Sessler (Rock Hill, SC), McKenna Construction (Raleigh, NC), and Whiting Turner (Raleigh, NC). The scope encompasses complete demolition of the Council Building, capping of all associated utilities, and site restoration including landscaping upon building removal. Bids will be submitted as single prime lump sum contracts. Complete plans and specifications in electronic format are available from RND Architects beginning July 12, 2026, through contact with Eric Wennerstrom or Steven Pulling.
Attendees at the mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit must wear Personal Protective Equipment and are highly recommended to wear masks. Public opening and reading of bids will follow immediately after the 2:00 p.m. deadline at Conference Room 301, Administrative Services III Building, 2601 Wolf Village Way, Raleigh, NC. NC State University reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. The SCO ID is 24-28152-01A and the NC State Project Number is 202420003.
