About this opportunity
The state and local contracting opportunity involves two separate sole source procurements. The first is a contract with The Guidance Center of Lea County to staff and supervise one Community Health Worker and one Partner HERO to serve older adults in McKinley County and conduct community outreach in Lea County, New Mexico. The objectives are to address social drivers of health and provide assistance to older adults in accessing benefit programs. The contract term is from 09/01/24 to 06/30/25 with a total value of $126,141.60. The University of New Mexico (UNM) identified The Guidance Center as the only qualified non-profit organization in the area with the necessary experience, staffing, and capacity to successfully provide these services in Lea County.
The second procurement is a sole source contract with Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA) for the Buena Vista Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association (MDWCA) to complete design and construction phase services for a water system improvements project in New Mexico. SMA has comprehensive knowledge of the Buena Vista MDWCA water system and has begun the design of the proposed project. The contractor will provide design, bidding, construction, and construction observation services, with an estimated completion within 365 calendar days of contract execution. The contract amount is $410,000 plus estimated tax of $26,735.30, for a total of $436,735.30. Buena Vista MDWCA has determined that SMA is the only contractor that can provide the requested services due to their existing knowledge of the project and ability to meet the project's deadlines within the funding constraints of state-funded monies.
