About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for muck boots for the Conservation/Parks & Lands, Forestry, and Inland Fisheries & Wildlife departments, with bids due August 5, 2009. All bidders must submit a notarized Code of Conduct Affidavit affirming compliance with wage, labor, environmental, safety, and human-rights standards, including prohibitions on forced labor, child labor, and discrimination — a compliance gate for all respondents.
The specified product is a Wetland Premium Field Boot (Bark model WET-998K or approved equivalent) with breathable Airmesh lining, stretch-fit topline bindings, seamless quick-clean footbase overlay, wrap-up toe bumper, MS-1 outsole, and CR flex-foam bootie rated for –20°F to 70°F. Available sizes span men's 5–15 and women's 6–13. The estimated quantity is approximately 25 pairs. Bidders must submit product samples by the bid opening date to Sue Garcia, Buyer II, at the Division of Purchases in Augusta, Maine.
The contract term begins immediately and runs through August 31, 2010, with an initial one-year term and two optional one-year renewals. Pricing must include all transportation charges with FOB destination delivery and remain firm for the contract duration. Delivery must occur within 10 business days of order receipt. The State of Maine requires acceptance of Procurement Card payment with no surcharges allowed. Vendors are subject to a 1% anti-sweatshop fee applied to the total contract amount, payable within 30 days of execution or quarterly for term contracts. Bids must be submitted through Vendor Self Serve (VSS); faxed or emailed bids are not accepted. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent, and cancel the contract with thirty days' written notice or immediately for non-conformance.
