About this opportunity

Caledonia Community Schools is procuring construction services for Bid Package 2 of its 2021 Projects, which encompasses renovations, additions, and sitework across three locations: the Administration Office, Duncan Lake Middle School, and Kraft Meadows Middle School in Caledonia, Michigan. The Christman Company serves as the Construction Manager, and Tower Pinkster as the Architect/Engineer. Sealed proposals must be submitted separately for each of the three locations by January 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM to the Caledonia Community Schools Administration Office at 9753 Duncan Lake Ave SE, Caledonia, MI 49316, with proposals to be opened and read aloud at 2:00 PM via Bluejeans conference call. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for January 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM, and site visits are available on January 18, 2021 at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 11:00 AM, with attendance limited to ten people per time slot due to COVID restrictions. Contract documents will be distributed through Procore beginning January 7, 2021. All contractors bidding on labor-inclusive work must be bondable and must include in their proposals the cost for both a Co-Obligee Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Co-Obligee Performance Bond, with an alternative cost identified should bonds not be required. All proposals must remain valid for sixty days after the bid date.

The procurement does not specify any set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise restrictions. Bid security in the amount of no less than five percent of the base bid is required with each proposal, submitted as a certified check, cashier's check, money order, or bid bond payable to The Christman Company; bid security from unsuccessful bidders will be returned immediately after contract award, while successful bidders must enter into a contract and furnish required bonds and insurance within thirty days of award. No specific budget range or award value is provided in the procurement documents. The Owner, Architect, and Construction Manager reserve the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all proposals, or accept any proposal deemed to serve their best interest. All questions should be directed to the Construction Manager, with no direct contact with the Owner or Architect requested.
