About this opportunity

Hardee County is seeking a Construction Management at-Risk (CMAR) firm for a comprehensive fire station and training facility project located at 149 KD Revell Road in Wauchula, Florida. The procurement involves selecting a contractor to provide pre-construction and construction services for a new 5-bay fire station that will include administrative offices and classroom training spaces. The project scope encompasses both new construction and potential renovation, with the existing fire station site intended to be converted into a training center featuring props, a drill tower, and instructional spaces. The selected CMAR firm will be required to join the project during the design phase, which is estimated to be completed by mid-2026, and provide pre-construction phase services at negotiated fees. The solicitation was posted on July 24, 2025, with proposals due by August 26, 2025, and interested firms must carefully review the full bid documents for complete project specifications and requirements. Potential respondents should demonstrate expertise in municipal public safety facility construction, advanced knowledge of fire station design principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the county's design firm throughout the project lifecycle.

While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly mentioned in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to be open to qualified professional construction management firms with relevant experience in municipal public safety infrastructure projects. The contract does not indicate any explicit restrictions based on business size, minority status, or disadvantaged enterprise classifications. No information is provided about incumbent vendors or existing technological infrastructure requirements for integration. Although a precise budget range is not specified, municipal fire station construction projects typically range from $3 million to $8 million, depending on facility size, complexity, and local construction market conditions. Interested firms should anticipate a comprehensive evaluation process that likely considers factors such as previous municipal project experience, technical capabilities, proposed project approach, team qualifications, and demonstrated understanding of the specific requirements for a modern fire station and training facility. Potential respondents are advised to thoroughly review all bid documents and prepare comprehensive proposals that address the unique needs of Hardee County's public safety infrastructure objectives.
