About this opportunity

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from design and construction administration consultants for a new research building at State University of New York at Binghamton, with SOQs due October 8, 2026.

Phase 1 will construct approximately 35,000 gross square feet of a multi-story research facility on the south side of campus along East/West Drive, opposite Bartle Library, currently a visitor parking lot. The building will house the university's AI Center with dry laboratories, collaboration spaces, and faculty support areas serving graduate researchers across engineering, sciences, arts, and humanities. The facility will also accommodate research in robotics, biotechnology, microelectronics, and clean energy. The project site requires utility investigation for water, sanitary lines, stormwater drainage, telecommunications, and electrical systems already located nearby. An embedded program study is required for Phase 1. The available budget will determine final square footage and programmatic elements, potentially altering the footprint from the initial 35,000 GSF estimate.

The estimated construction value is approximately $64,993,000. The contract term is not specified. Place of performance is on the SUNY Binghamton campus in Broome County, New York.

Consultants must register on the SUCF website at https://sucf.suny.edu/design-consulting-services/procurements-advertised to participate in this procurement. No evaluation criteria, incumbent contractor, preference program, or set-aside restrictions are identified in the source material. The source does not name a pre-bid meeting, site visit, or question-submission deadline.
