About this opportunity

The Michigan Department of Transportation is requesting proposals for concrete pavement, curb, and gutter repair on M-59 in Oakland County under RFP 260000002548, with proposals due September 8, 2026. Michigan prevailing wage rates apply to all laborers and mechanics on this public works project.

The scope encompasses removal and replacement of 900 square yards of concrete pavement (11-inch depth), 20 linear feet of curb and gutter, 20 tons of 21AA aggregate base installation, 30 square yards of site restoration, quality control testing as a lump sum, and approximately 1,220 linear feet of pavement markings. Traffic control measures include barricades, signs, message boards, plastic drums, and lighted arrows. All work must comply with Michigan Department of Transportation specifications and standards.

Contractors must submit unit prices for 26 line items on Schedule B (the pricing spreadsheet provided). All quantities are estimates only, and the state is not obliged to purchase in the quantities specified or any other quantities. Pricing must include all setup charges, fees, and ancillary expenses. Contractors must certify that pricing was developed independently without consultation or agreement with competing contractors. Failure to complete the pricing schedule exactly as requested may result in proposal disqualification.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Contractors must meet all MDOT bonding, insurance, and safety compliance requirements. A pre-bid site visit is available for contractors to inspect existing conditions. Work will commence following contract award and continue through project completion. All work is funded through Michigan state transportation funds and must comply with applicable federal and state public works regulations.
