About this opportunity
Spalding County, Georgia is seeking comprehensive IT support services through Request for Proposal (RFP) 2025 006, specifically targeting a complete server cloud migration and ongoing technology management. The county is soliciting proposals from qualified IT firms to migrate applications and data from 19 on-premises servers to a secure cloud environment, with mandatory support for network infrastructure, PC support, printer management, and extensive software system maintenance. The project requires continuous support for critical software programs including Tyler Technologies systems, enhanced E-911 system software, Records Management System, Jail Management System, and various investigative and bodycam programs. Proposals are due on April 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a mandatory pre-bid conference scheduled for March 12, 2025. Evaluation criteria will likely include vendor experience, technological understanding, cybersecurity capabilities, service level agreements, and comprehensive migration strategies. The selected vendor must demonstrate at least five years of server migration and management experience, provide detailed documentation of migration processes, and offer a clear technology roadmap for implementation.
While no specific set-aside designations were explicitly mentioned, the RFP implies a preference for vendors with extensive municipal technology experience serving government entities. The contract will initially be for one year with potential renewals for up to three additional years, with actual service implementation planned to begin January 3, 2026. The county serves 70,884 residents with 650 employees, suggesting a complex technological ecosystem requiring robust IT support. The scope includes managing Microsoft Suite licensing, Azure cloud accounts, and implementing multifactor authentication. Though specific budget ranges were not disclosed, the project represents a strategic shift from capital expense to an operating expense model, moving from aging Scale Hosts clusters to a modern cloud-based system. Vendors will be expected to provide comprehensive pricing for the turnkey server migration, with cost being one of multiple evaluation factors alongside technical capabilities, financial stability, and adaptability to technological advances.
