About this opportunity

Southeast Polk Community School District is requesting proposals for combi ovens for Southeast Polk Jr. High School, with proposals due June 30, 2026 and vendor questions due June 18, 2026. The District is seeking a RATIONAL Model LM100CGAXXX double-stack combi oven (two units, 6 Full On 6 Full, natural gas, 208/240V single phase) for delivery to 8325 NE University Avenue, Pleasant Hill, Iowa. The procurement is federally funded through the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Summer Food Service Program, Fresh Fruit and Veggie Program, and Afterschool Snack Program, administered by the Iowa Department of Education Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services. Small businesses, women-owned businesses, minority-owned businesses, and veteran-owned businesses are encouraged to respond; vendors should provide documentation of Targeted Small Business certification if applicable.

The scope includes the combi oven units configured for twelve full-size sheet pans, twenty-four steam table pans, or twelve 2/1 GN pans, operating at 85 to 572 degrees Fahrenheit with six stainless steel grids. Supporting equipment and services specified include stacking kit, mobile stand, water filtration system, installation kit, extended warranty coverage, and four-hour certified chef training. The equipment requires RATIONAL-certified technician installation complying with local plumbing and gas codes, carries a two-year parts-and-labor warranty plus five-year steam-generator warranty, achieves ENERGY STAR certification, and complies with DIN 18873 energy-efficiency standards. Vendors must provide three references of School Food Authority customers and submit federal certifications including Suspension and Debarment, Lobbying, and Civil Rights Compliance. Pricing must be submitted on the Official Pricing Spreadsheet on a freight-on-board basis with all delivery and installation costs included; no separate delivery or handling fees are permitted on invoices. Bid pricing must remain valid through the installation date, and any energy rebates shall be paid to the District.

Evaluation is weighted as follows: bid completeness (20 points), vendor qualifications and references (15 points), ability to meet project scope and timeline (15 points), product performance and specifications (5 points), and total extended costs including delivery (45 points). Notice of Intent to Award is scheduled for July 10, 2026, with final approval at the School Board meeting and target installation prior to August 24, 2026.
