About this opportunity
Educational Service District 112 (ESD 112) in Vancouver, Washington is requesting sealed bids for supply and installation of a commercial industrial exhaust hood system at the Columbia Heights Early Care and Education Center, with bids due August 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is required; contact Jeffrey Grimes at jeffrey.grimes@esd112.org or 360-952-3482 to schedule. This is a prevailing wage project under Washington State RCW 39.04.010, RCW 39.12.010, RCW 39.12.020, and WAC 296-127.
The scope includes supply and installation of a full commercial stainless steel cooktop exhaust hood with fire suppression system, stainless steel surround and backsplash, low-voltage fire alarm work and materials, RTU curb and sheet metal cap, TPO roofing patches and counter flashing, ductwork to roof, grease traps, cabinetry alterations, and final testing with jurisdictional and Fire Marshal sign-offs. All stainless steel welds must be ground smooth to a fine polished finish or electro-passivated to food-grade sanitary standards. The contractor must arrange equipment access including narrow-aisle scissors lifts capable of reaching 20 feet and extension ladders for roof work. Work is performed at 5300 MacArthur Boulevard, Vancouver, Washington.
ESD 112 provides only high-voltage electrical work; the contractor is responsible for all other trades, permits, and inspections, including sheet metal work, fire suppression system design and installation, low-voltage wiring, and cabinetry alterations. The contractor must maintain daily site cleanliness and remove all construction debris, as the facility operates year-round with no onsite dumpster available.
Bid submissions must include non-collusion affidavit, corporate profile, three to six completed reference forms, pricing form with itemized labor and materials, proof of insurance with minimum $1 million commercial general liability per occurrence and $2 million general aggregate, statutory worker's compensation coverage, and bonding documentation. Written questions are due August 17, 2026. ESD 112 reserves the right to reject any or all bids, negotiate modifications, or cancel the ITB.
