About this opportunity

Florida Gulf Coast University's Board of Trustees, acting through its Academic Programs and Curriculum Development (APCD) department, is seeking charter bus services for its Colloquium academic classes via an Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) 24S-006. The procurement opportunity is located in Lee County and specifically covers the Fruitville CDP area, with a primary objective of securing transportation services that support academic field trips. The university emphasizes a philosophy of excellence, requiring contractors to provide safe, punctual, and high-quality bus transportation that supports psychological and intellectual preparation for student and faculty travel. Key dates for this procurement include a November 20, 2024 deadline for written questions and a December 9, 2024 submission deadline for replies through the Bonfire procurement platform. The sole point of contact for this solicitation is Soraya Moye, and respondents are strictly prohibited from communicating with any other FGCU representatives about the ITN. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the available documentation, the university appears to prioritize service quality, safety, and alignment with their academic program's philosophical approach to transportation.

The procurement documents do not explicitly specify set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or incumbent vendors for this charter bus service contract. No specific budget range or award value is provided in the available materials. The solicitation appears to be open to qualified charter bus service providers who can meet the university's rigorous service standards and transportation requirements. Given the academic nature of the service and the emphasis on excellence, potential respondents should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to provide reliable, safe, and professionally managed transportation services. The contract likely represents an opportunity for charter bus companies with experience in academic or institutional transportation to establish a partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University's Academic Programs and Curriculum Development department.
