About this opportunity
St. Johns County, Florida is seeking bids for the Collonade Drive and Preservation Trail Intersection Improvements project through an Invitation for Bid (IFB) posted on September 17, 2025, with proposals due by October 22, 2025. The project involves comprehensive intersection reconstruction, including roadway reconstruction, installation of new curb ramps, sidewalks, pedestrian features, mast arms, lighting, conduit, pull boxes, controller cabinet, and vehicle detection systems. Bidders must be qualified contractors capable of executing the work in full compliance with the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, FY 2025-2026 edition, and FDOT Design Standards. The intersection must remain fully signalized throughout construction, and all work must adhere to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Three supporting documents have been provided: a Structural Analysis PDF, detailed intersection improvement plans, and signalized plans to guide the project implementation. Contractors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in road infrastructure development, traffic management, and municipal construction standards.
The solicitation does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises. Three detailed technical documents accompany the bid, including an 8MB Structural Analysis, a 569KB project overview, and a 4MB signalized plans document, which suggest complex technical requirements for potential bidders. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed in the provided documentation, the comprehensive nature of the intersection improvements indicates a substantial municipal infrastructure investment. The project scope suggests this is a capital improvement project targeting enhanced transportation infrastructure in St. Johns County. The requirement for maintaining full signalization during construction implies a sophisticated, phased approach to the intersection improvements. Potential bidders should carefully review the attached technical documents and be prepared to demonstrate significant civil engineering and municipal construction capabilities to be considered for this contract.
