About this opportunity

Sarasota County is seeking professional engineering services through a Request for Professional Services (RPS #242613CG) for coastal engineering projects. The procurement targets engineering firms capable of providing comprehensive services including planning, design, permitting, environmental assessments, monitoring, bidding services, Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI), and contract management for marine, estuarine, and freshwater related programs. Proposers must be registered with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation and have at least one key personnel who is a registered Professional Engineer. The county will evaluate proposals using a scoring system ranging from unsatisfactory (1) to excellent (5), focusing on professional personnel ability, past performance, and experience. Preferred qualifications include expertise in bathymetric surveying, permit acquisition, Sovereign Submerged Lands work, and specialized certifications like Certified Ecologist or Professional Wetland Scientist. The solicitation anticipates an initial contract term of five years, with proposals due by September 5, 2024. The selection process will involve written proposal review, potential presentations by top-scoring proposers, and final ranking by the Professional Services Review Committee.

While the solicitation documents do not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises, the procurement appears open to qualified engineering firms meeting the specified criteria. The county intends to create a Professional Services Library and potentially award contracts to multiple qualified firms based on their comprehensive evaluation. No specific incumbent vendors or existing technology integration requirements are explicitly stated in the provided documentation. The solicitation does not provide a specific budget range or award value, suggesting that compensation will likely be negotiated based on individual project scopes and the selected firms' qualifications. Interested firms will need to carefully review the full solicitation documents to understand the complete requirements and potential opportunities within Sarasota County's coastal engineering services procurement.
