About this opportunity

Slippery Rock University of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is seeking a single prime contractor to complete a comprehensive coal storage building membrane replacement project. The procurement opportunity, identified as UP-2024-003, involves complete demolition and replacement of the existing reinforced poly membrane covering a galvanized steel-framed structure, including an arched roof, two end walls, two roll-up membranes at end wall openings, membrane skirt, and the tensioning system. Contractors must provide all necessary labor, superintendence, materials, tools, and equipment to successfully complete the general construction work to the satisfaction of the university. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is scheduled for June 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM, located at the Heating Plant, 100 Service Drive in Slippery Rock, PA. Electronic bids will be accepted through PASSHE's ARIBA Sourcepoint until 2:00 PM EST on July 9, 2024, with bidders required to register on the platform to submit proposals. The bid package can be accessed at http://seller.ariba.com, which provides a secure and confidential bidding process.

While the solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements, interested bidders must complete a free registration process on the ARIBA Sourcepoint to obtain solicitation documents and submit bids. The procurement covers a comprehensive membrane replacement project, suggesting potential complexity that may require specialized construction expertise in membrane installation and industrial building renovations. No specific budget range or award value was disclosed in the documentation, though the scope suggests a potentially significant capital investment for the university. The project is located in Pennsylvania, with jurisdictional associations to Bucks County and South Pottstown CDP, though the actual work site is in Slippery Rock. Potential bidders should carefully review the complete bid package and ensure they meet the technical requirements for membrane replacement and general construction work in an institutional setting.
